The Daily Frame September 17th-23rd Remington, Virginia Photographer

Hello Friends!! It's been a bit since I've been able to share a post. Things have been super busy with work and by the time I get home there just isn't enough time to edit photos. I'm still trying my best to keep up, but there are days where I miss getting a shot in.  I've accepted not to force and just get my photos as I can.   So let's get to it and share some photos from our week. 

Day 260/365:  Sick 

My girl was so sick today. She was literally green and so dehydrated. Stomach bugs are just the worst. This was taken with my iphone 5. 

261/365: Keeping up with the guys 

This evening you started to feel better. Before you left to go to your Dad's you wanted to try to play some guitar like the boys. You've had this little guitar since you were 3 and have loved it dearly.  I think it's time for an upgrade to a real guitar though. 

262/365: Boys and Boo Boo's 

As a boy it seems your always having some sort of bruise, cut, or scrape. It makes you tough, but there is still something about bandaids that make it all better. 

263/365: With Me
Each month for 30 minutes in the life, we are challenged to get in the frame. At first I'm always bummed and frustrated about getting in front of the camera instead of being behind it. I'm never happy with how I look, I get emotional because the image doesn't quite turn out the way I see it in my mind. Then I get them loaded on my computer and I see it and I think why did I get so bummed out about this? Look at this moment with my baby and I. I know I will cherish this image. I will look at it and cry. I will remember how every single day you have to wear a cape. You hate wearing clothes that match, and most of all, I love how you are looking at me and how I'm looking at you. It's honest and real. I'm not going to care that my arm looks huge or that you can see my other body imperfections. So thank you to my ladies at 30 minutes in the life for always pushing and inspiring me to be in the frame when I don't always want to.

264/365: Snack
You love getting apples. It's one of your favorite snacks. I'm not really sure what was going on outside here, but you were really checking it out. I just had to grab my camera and grab a shot when you were not paying attention. (Yes, he's wearing a glove, another piece to add to his dressing up) :)

265/365: Late night shot
Tonight I almost missed my shot. It was late when we got home and by the time dinner and dishes were done it was already dark out. So this isn't the best shot. The light in the room was minimal, so it's dark and grainy.

266/365: First Day of Fall
Fall is definitely starting to show itself. I love the evening fall light. It is golden and dreamy.  Tonight it was perfect. We had one wish flower in the front yard and you were just dying to wish on it. What ever your wish, I hope it comes true sweet girl.

The Daily Frame August 13th-19th Remington, Virginia Photographer

Hello Friends! I hope you have had a good week! I took many photos this week, but unfortunately have had little time to edit them.  So I will have to catch up on them and share at a later time.

225/365: Playing Guitar in Beautiful Light
As you know by now I love photographing my husband playing guitar. When he plays it is his happy time and I love seeing him in his element.  I also love the beautiful evening light we have been having lately.  I can't decide between the color or the black and white. I'd love to hear which one you like the best!

226/365: Apple House Pick Up
Every other Friday we pick up Ethan at the Apple House. You guys love to play around and hang out at this little place.

227/365: Seeing my Brother
Today was an eventful day. We were going to my Mom's house to celebrate her 60th Birthday with a BBQ and pool party.  My brother and I don't get to see each other often and haven't had a photo together in over 10 years. So we both decided to meet up early Saturday morning and take a quick photo together to surprise her.  My intention was to do this for her, but I have to admit I was so happy to get to see my younger brother.  I again have many photos from swimming, but will share those soon.

229/365: First Day of School
Today was the first day of school. Of course Shawn was so thrilled as you can see. (Haha!) Mariah on the other hand was really excited to return to school.  Conor is so ready for school, but due to his birthday he can't start yet. So he is ready for Preschool at Miss Amy's.  Here's the mandatory First Day images.  Shawn starts 8th grade, Mariah starts 4th grade.

230/365: Not getting your way
Sometimes in the evening you are so tired and nothing seems to go your way, yet you don't want to give up and go inside.

231/365: Playing in the Abandoned Truck
There is this old abandoned tractor trailer in the back fields behind our house. The kids are always wanting to check it out so tonight they got to explore in it a bit.

The Daily Frame July 30th- August 5th Remington, Virginia Photographer

Hello Friends! Sorry I missed sharing my post with you last week, but I am back in full swing this week. I've really been trying to challenge myself a bit on how I create my photos. Sometimes there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get it all in, but I am pushing through.  For those of you that messaged me or spoke to me saying how much you missed seeing my weekly post, you have no idea how much that meant to me.  Sometimes I wonder if anyone reads these posts or really cares about our little ordinary world. So to get that feedback was wonderful.    So here are some photos from our week.

211/365: I was home
Today I was home from work, still working most of the day, but I was home.  Our day care provider was off this week so between family, Mat and myself, we stayed with the littles.  It was nice to be home and enjoy them, even if it was just hanging out here listening to them chatter and play while I was working.  I got to capture a bit of our day, so here are a few of my favorites.

We got a quick, but heavy storm.  Shawn was awesome and ran out in to the rain, and I grabbed a quick shot as he was coming in.  I even got a little smile. :)  After the rain the sun came out and Mariah had a blast playing in the puddles.

212/365: I Am Enough...
Do you ever ask yourself that question? Am I Enough?  Am I pleasing my husband,  my family, my team at work, my art, and most of all myself?  Sometimes it seems like the pressures of life build up and we lose all confidence and faith in ourselves. We get insecure, we compare ourselves to others, we ultimately end up tearing ourselves down more than the others on the outside do because we are so hard on ourselves.  So today I told myself that Yes,  I Am Enough... I have goals and so many things I want to learn and improve in several areas of my life. Am I perfect? Definitely not, but I am growing, taking things one step at a time, and I am ok with that.  So to all of you who may ask yourself this same question, Yes, You Are Enough too! <3

213/365: Messick's
Today Mariah and I ran up to our favorite farmers market. It's such a cool place. It was nice to have a short bit of time for just the two of us.  We pet goats, played on the slides, jumped on the big air trampoline and then picked sunflowers together.  Here is a shot of a bee on one of the flowers that I captured.

214/365: Taking a risk
Well I had a vision of a photo that I wanted to capture.  Sometimes I wish I could capture images of myself without having to ask someone to press the shutter.  People think it's as easy as just pressing a button, but so much more goes in to capturing the image you have created in your mind.  You also see yourself in a different way sometimes, which doesn't help.  So I am back to this confidence thing and really nervous to share this image.  I'm sure some will not like it, but that is ok. It didn't turn out technically the way I fully wanted or intended, but it's me. A big thank you to my hubby for being supportive in my journey and trying to help the best he can.

215/365: Last Bit of Evening
Tonight we got home late from work and counseling.  I had forgotten my camera, so we raced home and ran out to get a shot before the sun was down.  The moon was starting to come out and the clouds were scattered beautifully across the sky. You laid in the grass so that you could get a better view. Then we found a mushroom in the side of the yard that you wanted to share.

217/365: Beautiful Light and Sunflowers
Tonight while we were eating dinner, you saw your favorite pocket of line that shines on the wall. You love that you can see your shadow in the light and I may or may not have encouraged your excitement over this spot each time you see it.  I can't help it, I love seeing this little pocket of evening light myself.  You are all about some Teen Titans right now. You were so excited to get this Robin mask over the weekend. So while you were playing in the light I snapped a few shots.

When we went to Messick's farm market on Saturday we picked sunflowers together.  We have done this the last 3 years together.  We didn't really take too many photos while we were there because it was so hot and really bright out. So we decided to take a few tonight before the flowers started to die too much.  These are two of my favorites.

218/365: Last light with my Teenager  

Tonight we almost missed the sunset, but we got out just in time, and I got to get outside with Shawn. Two photos is 1 week... This is rare! I love this kid. I never knew what love truly was until he came in to my life.  He is everything I ever dreamed he would be, when he was just a little newborn.  He is smart, funny, and I love how in to music he is right now.

The Daily Frame July 16th- 22nd Remington, Virginia Photographer

Well Hello, Hello... Where is this month going? I can't believe we are almost finished with July. This week has been much more relaxed and back to normal. It felt great to shoot every day again and want to pick up my camera.

197/365:  Feeling Inspired
So last week I truly had no inspiration.  I didn't feel motivated, I was sad and depressed. I was looking through Ello, and I have to admit I found a photographer that I hadn't really followed before. There was something about her work... It was art, it was so beautiful. It was appealing to the eye, but it was so much more than that. It was the fact that you could tell she shot for herself and what she wanted. It wasn't what she thought others wanted to see, it was what she saw, her vision.  Now by no means am I comparing myself to this artist, but her art inspired me. It made me want to pick up my camera and create something I love for me. I even messaged her to tell her, how beautiful her art was and to say she had inspired me. I told her how I had been sad and just didn't feel like shooting. She told me something I had already been trying to tell myself, creating art will help you heal and feel better. I guess it's nice hearing your own thoughts reassured.  So I listened and went outside and photographed my husband. I love photographing him, and the way I see the world with him in it. 198/365: A Stop Along the Road
Tonight we had a long evening. On our way to pick up my step son we had a blow out on the highway. Thankfully my wonderful hubby and son helped saved the day on that one. By the time we got Ethan and got back on the road we decided to take the back roads home since we were on the donut spare.  I knew I wanted to get a photo today since I slacked so much the last 2 weeks, I didn't want to start missing this week.  We saw this field of corn on the side of the road, the sun was just about to set, but we decided to pull over anyway.  So my original photo idea didn't go as planned but I got these shots instead.  On the way back to the van Mariah and I decided to have a little race and Mat got this shot of the two of us. I didn't like it at first, because it isn't the perfect photo, I'm not happy how I look etc. I'm so glad I got this image of the two of us though.  I know I will cherish it and I hope she will too.  So sometimes unplanned stops along the road make really awesome memories.

199/365: By the Fire
The two of you are not always on the same page. Conor, you are a Mama's boy, which your Dad should understand because he is too. You are both not overly affectionate to one another, but you normally play and wrestle to show each other your love. Tonight we had a little fire and you guys just snuggled up for a few minutes together. It melted my heart. It was nothing serious, but just the two of you close together.

200/365: Beating the Heat
Today was incredibly hot, so we decided to go to my Mom's to go swimming. We had lots of fun and spent time playing together as a family. It was just wonderful! I even got a shot of all 4 of you together which is super rare!

201/365: Exhaustion
Today was another scorcher of a day. You work outside, so the heat just wears you out. Tonight you were barely finished dinner before you were fast asleep on the couch.

202/365: Just Some Girl Talk
I love our few moments alone together and the talks we share. You were not expecting me to take this shot, but I love how natural and real it looks. I love how I can see your vein in your cheek. I love that your hair is all a mess. Your eyes are tired after a long day of playing. This is an honest portrait of you.

203/365: A Drive By Iphone Shot
Sometimes I love my iphone shots just as much as my big girl shots.  Tonight we went to pick up Ethan and the light and scenery were so beautiful I just had to get a quick shot.  Mat was taking a photo of me while I was shooting. So here's that one too!
