June 30 Minutes in the Life

Hello Friends, it's time for the June edition of our 30 Minutes In the Life blog circle. This month I am sharing 30 minutes from a visit at my Mom's house.  I had part of the day off from work and spent it with my kiddos playing in the pool. When I was growing up we had a pool in our back yard and it still to this day, swimming is one of my absolute favorite things to do.  I am so thankful and happy that my children have this same love. They have never feared the water or not wanted to play and enjoy themselves in the water.  They are just like me and will stay in until the absolute last minute that they have to get out.  One of the best things about being at the pool, is all the crazy jumps you can do.  So during our visit, the kids had all sorts of fun jumping in the pool.  Here are some of my favorites from this 30 minutes.  After you check out my post be sure to keep following along to the other ladies in the circle.  We are lucky to have such a talented group of artists from all over the world, and each one always has something beautiful and interesting to share from their little piece of the world.

Next up in our circle is my very talented and inspiring friend, Amanda Voelker. She is not only an incredible photographer, but her stories and words are just as wonderful.  Click here to see what she has to share with you this month.

The Daily Frame June 11th- 23rd Remington, Virginia Photographer

I didn't get to share my week with you last week, so this week I will share 2 weeks. Life the last two weeks has been quite busy.  I've done very well about keeping up with photographing but editing and posting has gone by the way side. So this week I am doing my best to catch back up and share this little bit of our life with you.  At the end be sure to follow along and check out the rest of our circle. There is always such amazing talent in this group.

160/365: Summer Heat
The days are so hot right now, it just feels so much better to keep your hair up off your shoulders. We went for a short walk and you wanted to put this beautiful flower in your hair.  I just  love how the light is shining through your hair.

161/365: Fridays
Every other Friday you go to visit your Dad so race from work and daycare to get you there for your visit. Today we actually got there a few minutes early so I was able to capture you before you left.

162/365: Visit with Oma
Today we went to see your Oma. You guys had some fun playing in the sprinkler together, and it was adorable.

163/365: Making Wishes
We thought most of the dandelions were gone, but we were wrong... As soon as you found them you were all ready to make your wishes.

164/365: Stressful day
Today was a bit stressful for the both of us. We have been questioning many things in our relationship lately, but I think when it comes down to it, it's the difficult situations that make us stand strong together and realize how much we love one another. When others would give up and fall apart, somehow we come together and rise above. I hope it always works that way.

165/365: Sometimes we need a little time out.

166/365: The Reality is, we all get exhausted.

167/365: Cannonballs at Maw Maw's House

168/365: Feeling Sentimental
This evening we ended up driving through Front Royal where we lived when we first got together.  Seeing this street sign brought back memories of our favorite house there on Cloud Street and then we got married on E Stonewall street.  Although we know this is not where we want to be all the time, we have so many memories and good times here.

169/365: Old Friends that withstand the test of time
Today I got to hang out with one of my oldest dearest friends. We haven't seen each other in almost 5 years.  We've both been through so many life changes in these 5 years, but seeing each other talking and laughing like nothing had ever changed is priceless. These friendships are the best and I cherish them with all my heart.

170/365: Father's Day
No matter how frustrated I get with you, the one thing I can say is what an amazing Dad you are. You always play and have fun with the kids. You teach and discipline in order to make them better.

171/365: Relaxing

172/365: Blowing Bubbles before the storm

173/365: Tired and Cranky

Thanks for checking out my week. Next up is Liz Godfrey from Connecticut, click here to see what she has been up to this week.

The Daily Frame June 4th-10th Remington, Virginia Photographer

Well Summer is here for sure. It started out this week with rain, but we have really hit the heat and humidity the remainder of the week. I've been a little preoccupied this week and not feeling myself so my urge to pick up my camera has not been up and down. I've proud of myself for making it this far in capturing a photo each day. It's become like a ritual, a part of me. I really do look forward to it on most days.   After checking out my post, be sure to follow along to the rest of the girls in our circle.

153/365: Another rainy day
It feels like it's been doing nothing but raining this week. Tonight when we got home you got out some of your workbooks and practiced your writing.

154/365: My Crazy Husband
Today we were in a rush and I was afraid I might miss my photo. You said you'd do it awfully quick and now I see why. You wanted to throw some goofiness in there. I love it though and I love when you try to make me smile. :)

155/365: Just another Saturday Night
Tonight we had such a nice evening, we stayed outside, we lit sparklers and played all together.

156/365: Fight Club 2
Your favorite author is Chuck Palaniuck, you own all of his books, and you absolutely love the movie Fight Club.  A comic came out as a sequel to the book and it was written by Chuck Palahniuck.  You have been so excited to find this and read it.

157/365: Talking in the tall grass
Tonight we went out to the field and just chatted in the tall grass. This unfortunately was short lived as the boys let the dogs out who quickly came to tackle us. I do love our moments of just you and me time.

158/365: Peach Ice Cream
Tonight we went to our favorite ice cream place. Just me and the kids. We love to go here, the ice cream is made fresh by the local farmers and people come from all over to wait in line for their ice cream. It really is that good though. So worth the wait. If you are somewhat local to me, and you have not been there, take the time to stop at the Moo Thru and enjoy.  I normally always get the cookie dough. It is my favorite. Tonight they had fresh peach, so after convincing from Shawn to try something new, I am so very glad I did. It was the best. We all loved it! The kids ended up eating theirs and most of mine because they loved it so much.

159/365: Finding Joy in the simple things
Today was a difficult day.  There are some changes at work that I have been figuring out how to adjust. There are days that marriage is difficult and misunderstood. On these days I have to push myself to shoot something. Today was definitely one of those days. The light was starting to dim and I thought to myself, I need to find something to brighten my mood, this moment. So there it was, these little beauties. These little weeds that I adore so much. They are picked with love from my littles and mean more than any store bought flower ever could.

So that's it for this week. I hope you enjoyed. Next up is the super talented Amanda Voelker from Seattle,Washington. I love following her posts, and I know you will too.

Until next time... xo

The Daily Frame May 28th - June 3rd Remington, Virginia Photographer

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful start to summer! We are definitely enjoying our evenings outside and trying to have as much fun as we can on the weekends.   Here are some favorites from my week of photos.  At the end be sure to follow along through the rest of our circle to see what the other girls have been up to this week.

147/365: Icee Pops
It has been very very hot here these last few days.  So a cold treat is always nice to try to cool down in the evenings. We recently found these Jolly Rancher Icee Pops at the grocery store and you are loving them.

148/365: Sunset at the Carnival
On Fridays we are always running to get home after work and get everyone dropped off where they need to be.  It was our local fireman carnival and this evening was the parade. I don't think I've ever seen our little town quite so packed.  As you may already know I LOVE ferris wheels.  So, we had to come through long enough for me to at least grab a shot of the ferris wheel.  The sun just happened to be setting as well, so it worked out perfectly.

149/365: Swimming at Maw Maw's
Today was extremely hot and humid, so we decided to go to my Mom's to go swimming and cool off. We had lots of fun, but one of my favorite moments was watching you try to capture this butterfly.  The butterfly kept flying all around you and would almost land on you.  You tried for about 30 minutes to catch this little guy in your hands, but never quite got it.  So here is a little shot of you trying.

150/365: Date Night

So we almost never have a night of going to do something fun for us. So when it happens we get a little excited.  Tonight especially.  We got to go to the city to one of our favorite small clubs to see one of our favorite bands from when we were younger. We got to go with good friends and had such a great time.  It was so great to see The Pixies in a small place where we could be so close and be a part of the music.  Thank you for a fun evening my love.  We truly do have the best time with one another.

151/365: Sprinkler before the storm
A little sprinkler fun before it starting raining.

152/365: Rainy Day

153/365: Last Day of School
Today was the last day of school.  We are so glad for this break.  I thought it would be fun to post a photo from their first day and then today the last day.  Really the change in Shawn is drastic, but I love it!
