Letters to Our Children January Remington, Virginia Photographer

Hello 2016!! I am really happy to be back blogging this month.  I have joined another blog circle this year called Letters to Our Children. I have followed similar circles in years past and just loved hearing these mothers share their letters to their little ones.  I hope you will follow along and check out the other fabulous photographers and mothers in this circle.  Next up is the very talented Bobbi Jo from Love Bee Photography. I love following her photography and know you will too. Click here to see her post this month.

Dear Conor,
It only seemed fitting to make my first post for you.  You just had your 5th birthday, which was such an exciting mile stone for you. 5! How can you be Five already?  Your dad and I spent the night before your birthday reliving the night of your birth. (We each see it a little differently of course.)  This was my first time being in labor at night, your Dad was a nervous wreck, but trying his best to be  cool and as sweet as he could.  We always laugh because your Dad says he saw me at my craziest that night.  I might have been a little crazy, but only because I knew it was time for you to come out and the nurses kept telling me No, we have to wait.  This was not something I wanted to hear.  Needless to say, we made it through the night. Thank goodness for your Maw Maw, because she really helped to keep your Dad calm until morning when you were born.  We were so excited and full of love when we got to finally meet you and hold you in our arms. Your brothers and sister could not wait to get there to see you. Shawn instantly fell in love with you and held you as much as he could. He even helped change your first messy diaper and played his DS while holding you.

So now 5 years later... You are so full of energy and enjoying every part of childhood you can.  You always try to make us laugh with your silly ways, but you also have a temper that gets you in trouble.  My mama heart struggles when you get so upset about things, but you have to learn you can't always have everything you want.  Luckily Dad is there to help keep me strong with this.

You are like a sponge learning so many new things. You are very smart and really love to draw. I'm really excited for you to start kindergarten in the fall, but I am also happy you have this last year to be a boy, and explore and have fun without having to worry about homework and grades.

Many people don't know this, but you saved me. I was in the darkest point of my life and you helped me have hope and find good in the world. You gave me purpose, when I doubted everything else including myself. Thank you for that. Thank you for completing our family Conor David Hunt. You bind us all together as one.

Until next time my sweet boy. Keep being you... Keep being awesome, and Enjoy every minute of this beautiful life.

Love Mom.
